Job Summary:
The Department of Anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem General Anesthesiologist. The successful candidate will:
  • Administer anesthesia to all patients through anesthetic techniques (general, regional, & sedation) in general operating room ambulatory setting and obstetrical suite.
  • Participate in clinical operating room supervision for residents and medical students as required by the department.
  • Mentor residents and medical students in the operating room.
  • Perform on-call assignments as required by the department, to include clinical service in general operating room, OB, and ambulatory coverage.
  • Perform call commitment, as needed and/or required.

Required Qualifications:
  • New York State Medical Licensure.
  • Medical Doctor Degree.
  • Successful completion of training in an ACGME-accredited residency.
  • Board Certification or eligible.
  • Sub-specialty, if applicable.
