This is a build-it-yourself quality role. Metalcraft doesn’t have a quality department today — this person will be it. You’ll set up the Quality Management System from the ground up and lead the shop through ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification, shaping how quality is run on a growing 20-machine Haas floor. Metalcraft has been family-owned since 1997, founded by Don (Skip) Utz and Jeff Rhodes and now run by Skip’s sons, Nate and Chris Utz. The shop serves aerospace, defense, automotive, agricultural, and marine customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and running Metalcraft’s Quality Management System from scratch
  • Leading the shop through ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification — this person owns that process
  • Generating quality reports
  • Reviewing customer purchase orders for quality requirements
  • Inspecting parts and confirming they meet print and customer requirements
  • Programming and running CMM inspection
  • Working across a shop of 8 people on the floor and 20 Haas mills and lathes

Machines, controls and software

  • Hexagon Global CMM with scanning capability
  • CMM programming in Zeiss Calypso and/or Hexagon software (preferred)
  • 20 Haas machines — 10 mills (four with 4th-axis/3+1 machining) and 10 lathes (three with live tooling)
  • Starrett HB400 comparator, ID/OD bore and thread gaging

What we're looking for

Required:

  • Experience inspecting precision-machined parts
  • Comfortable generating quality reports and reviewing customer purchase orders for quality requirements
  • Able to set up and run a Quality Management System

Preferred:

  • CMM programming experience — Zeiss Calypso or Hexagon
  • Prior AS9100 or ISO 9001 experience, ideally having led a shop through certification
  • Aerospace, defense, or other regulated-industry background

Materials you'll work with

Aluminum, tool steels, stainless steel, Hastelloy, and Inconel.

Pay, benefits and schedule

  • $50,000–$75,000/year, depending on experience
  • 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with voluntary/flexible overtime
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage, with $20/week toward the benefit plan
  • One week of PTO after your first year, adding a day each year after
  • Background check required
