JOB SUMMARY:

Assists licensed physical and occupational therapist, physical, occupational therapy assistants, and students in all aspects of treatment in order to maximize each patient's functional ability.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years' experience as a rehabilitation aide.

 No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a rehabilitation environment or education related to a rehabilitation career path preferred.

Current CPR certification from an AHA-approved course provider

Job Description:

Assists licensed physical and occupational therapist, physical, occupational therapy assistants, and students in all aspects of treatment in order to maximize each patient's functional ability.

JOB DUTIES

  • Transfers and transports patients in a safe and timely manner
  • While under direct supervision of the treating therapist, the rehabilitation aide will assist with direct patient care relative to patient's age, culture, and condition
  • Communicates verbally and in written form with therapists, assistants, students, customers, volunteers and other aides to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Maintains linen, disinfects equipment, sterilizes equipment, and tracks reusable supplies.
  • Maintains clean working environment.
  • Receives, distributes, and restocks supplies.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Files, answers and makes telephone calls, performs departmental copying.
