Job description

At the City of Richmond, we honor our history and maintain an open mind to new ideas and ways of maintaining and improving our service levels. The City is looking for employees who are committed to public service and possess a willingness to be challenged. The Utility Department is currently recruiting for "Customer Service Technician ".

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under general supervision, the Customer Service Technician works with the crew to repair and maintain the City's water and sewer system. Responsible for field assessment; occasional service connects and disconnects; minor valve and manhole maintenance; cleaning and televising sewer lines; recommends methods for correcting problems that are the property owner's responsibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Education:

High school diploma or equivalent GED.

Training (License and/or Certification):

Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License

TCEQ Class C distribution desired or should be obtained within 2 years of employment.

TCEQ Class II wastewater collection license desired or should be obtained within 4 years of employment.
