Backed by a 58-year legacy of excellence in civil construction and sitework, our firm stands as an industry staple. We provide the stability of a family-oriented business paired with the high-octane execution of major commercial, industrial, and public infrastructure contracts.

This is a true "cradle-to-grave" management position designed for a seasoned construction professional who can aggressively estimate dirt and utility scopes, secure profitable awards, and lead union crews through successful field execution. If you want full autonomy over your projects, a clear path for long-term career growth, and a team that values technical mastery, your next move starts here.

What You Will Be Doing

You will command the technical preconstruction phase and drive the field execution of our civil and utility divisions:

Surgical Estimating & Bidding: Analyze detailed project specifications and blueprints to generate precise, highly competitive excavation, grading, and site utility bids.

Field & Budget Coordination: Partner closely with field supervisors and union crews to ensure physical execution perfectly aligns with original cost projections and budgetary constraints.

Schedule Architecture: Develop and maintain comprehensive master project schedules to guarantee strict, on-time delivery for government and industrial clients.

Margin Optimization: Continuously evaluate material, equipment, and labor costs to maximize project profitability and resource efficiency.

Stakeholder Management: Direct all site-level communications, serving as the primary liaison between executive leadership, subcontractors, clients, and municipal inspectors.

Document Control: Manage the submittal, RFI, and change order processes to protect project margins and maintain absolute financial accuracy.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Industry Tenure: Minimum of 5 years of dual experience in civil construction estimation and project management.

Core Competencies: A proven track record of bidding and managing earthwork, excavation, and underground site utility projects.

Technical Literacy: Advanced proficiency in reading civil engineering drawings, site layouts, and interpreting complex structural/geotechnical specifications.

Labor Dynamics: Strong experience working within a union environment and a practical understanding of collective bargaining labor requirements.

Preferred Background:

Advanced expertise in specialized utility bidding software (such as HCSS HeavyBid, InSite, or PlanSwift) and project management platforms.

Demonstrated success in winning and managing large-scale federal, state, or municipal infrastructure contracts.

Extensive knowledge of regional civil construction regulations, municipal codes, and local geological conditions in Michigan.

Associate degree or higher in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We reward top-tier project leadership with a comprehensive total rewards package:

Competitive Compensation: $88,000 – $105,000 annual base salary strictly based on your mastery and track record.

Financial Incentives: Strong performance-based bonus opportunities tied to project margin retention and job safety.

Income Reliability: Dependable weekly pay cycle.

Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.

Future Security: A robust retirement savings program to invest in your long-term goals.
