Job description

Clerk Position

The Clerk position is responsible for conducting the day-to-day activities related to Mail Services, as instructed by the Team Leader and in accordance with the work schedule calendar and customer's requirement. The Clerk position will report to the Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Mail related tasks under direct supervision of Team Leader.
  • Conduct mail runs in a timely fashion, adhering to established schedule
  • Process outgoing USPS mail by ensuring proper postage and packaging
  • Process priority UPS/FedEx outgoing packages. Ensure paperwork is correct to guarantee delivery date is met as defined by customer
  • Deliver copier paper to centralized copy rooms as needed
  • Sort and process daily branch mail and ensure the branch mail schedule is being adhered to
  • Sort all incoming mail accurately and in timely fashion, following established Service Level Agreement.
  • Research all unknown and unaddressed mail to ensure delivery to appropriate party.
  • Provide administrative support related to answering department phones, and completion of department paperwork.
  • Inspect all work-related equipment to ensure that it is operational and safe. Report damages and follow up.
  • Assist customers and respond to inquiries to ensure that a high level of Customer Service is maintained.
  • Assist in gathering production numbers, meter reads and charge back information to prepare monthly reports
  • Assist in conducting general safety inspections and participate in job-related training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • No mailroom experience required
  • Ability to operate manual, electric, and motorized cart pallet jacks
