Job description

Job Title: Senior Course Developer

Interested in developing content for use with the latest technologies in a training environment? Be an integral part of the Technical Training Virtual Reality team! Lam Research is seeking a new team member to create storyboards.

What We Do

We train Field Service Engineers in a virtual environment to perform semiconductor equipment service tasks. Our Course Developers convert service procedures into storyboards, which guide the VR designers with written and graphic instructions to create the VR courses.

Who We Are Looking For

You have a technical background, know how to use hand tools, and can follow written work instructions. Maybe you've worked in manufacturing or R&D and have performed assembly work or have worked as a test technician. You are familiar with mechanical drawings and schematics. You could also be a hardware trainer with experience working on/teaching semiconductor capital equipment. You must be detail-oriented, and it would be a plus if you've written procedures (SOPs).

What You'll Do

  • Develop professional level storyboards from service procedures using PowerPoint
  • Research storyboard content using CAD drawings, schematics, mechanical drawings, manufacturer spec sheets, etc.
  • Work with subject-matter experts (SMEs) to provide quality assurance on the instructional materials you create
  • Take screenshots and edit images using Snagit
  • Create semiconductor system UI recordings using Camtasia
  • Create narrations using text-to-speech software
  • Produce quality end-products in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Analyze service procedures at start of project to determine VR instruction suitability
  • Facilitate group discussions/meetings with SMEs to align on training content

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient use of hand-tools
  • Familiarity with machine hardware and electrical systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, communicate and ensure standards of accuracy and detail within the team
  • Professional interaction skills in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, Adult Education, ISD, or a related field, or a two-year associate's degree in electrical/mechanical technology from an accredited college or university, or have experience working on large capital equipment performing ISD, or prior military experience developing and designing training curriculum
  • Knowledge of video and audio production software, such as Adobe Premiere, TechSmith

Camtasia, and WellSaid

  • Knowledge of Snagit screen capture software
  • Experience authoring technical procedures, manuals, or job aids

Nice to have

  • Experience in media development, publishing and content management
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience conducting classroom learning sessions, seminars, or workshops
