Job description

The Devices & Services Experience Design (DxD) team leads user experience and industrial design innovation across Amazon's device portfolio, including Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Alexa.com, and related mobile apps. Our team works at the intersection of design, product and engineering, creating meaningful hardware and software experiences that enhance customer lives. We believe in storytelling and thinking holistically to craft the "why" behind everything we ship.
Our design studio is looking for an exceptional Sr

UX Motion Designer who wants to use AI to expand their craft beyond traditional animation and into deeper, more interactive experiences. You will concept and craft unique and compelling motion design for Fire TV experiences, collaborating with designers, researchers, engineers and product managers throughout the design and development lifecycle. As a tastemaker and storyteller, you will advocate for design excellence, contributing to product vision and collaborating with a team that defines the interaction, visual, and motion design patterns for multimodal experiences.
The ideal candidate has a keen eye for elegant, modern design and UI patterns, and is energized by the idea of using generative and AI-driven tools to expand what one designer can build

You think holistically and advocate for your design solutions by putting them in the context of business and customer goals. You are proficient in After Effects and other software for creating user interface animations, rapid mockups, motion studies and prototypes. You are comfortable using AI to prototype faster, explore more directions, and prototype interactive systems.

You are at ease both visualizing an experience in the abstract and driving that vision into concise motion design deliverables and hands-on building with engineering teams. You can drive the creative review cycle, craft delightful design solutions, and elevate the motion experience of millions of customers around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft motion UX behaviors, systems and animations that orient, guide and add delight for customers
- Use AI and generative tools to accelerate exploration, prototype interactive behaviors, and expand the range of solutions you can deliver
- Produce motion studies for user flows and leadership presentations with an ability to quickly iterate on multiple design solutions
- Work with peer and partner interaction, visual, and sound designers in an open and collaborative environment
- Contribute to the definition and communication of motion design guidelines, development best practices and standards
- Adapt core motion primitives to optimize experiences for both existing and emerging customer modalities
- Work with the product management team to develop a shared vision of a product/feature, close on requirements and deliver motion design to meet the product's objectives
- Partner with software engineers to leverage the scale offered by our platform without compromising on core experiential principles and customer intent
- Present work to multiple partner teams and design leadership for review and feedback
- Contribute to the broader design community to extend motion experiences across the array of offerings
- Inspire other designers in the DxD studio.
