Description
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Used Car Director to lead and oversee all aspects of our pre-owned vehicle operations. This is a key leadership position responsible for inventory management, vehicle acquisition, merchandising, pricing strategy, and driving profitability while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong automotive leader with a proven track record of maximizing used vehicle performance, developing high-performing teams, and achieving sales and gross profit objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of the used vehicle department, including inventory acquisition, pricing, merchandising, and sales performance.
• Develop and execute strategies to maximize inventory turn, gross profit, and overall departmental profitability.
• Analyze market trends, vehicle values, and competitive pricing to maintain a competitive inventory.
• Source and acquire vehicles through auctions, trades, direct purchases, and other channels.
• Work closely with sales, finance, service, and reconditioning teams to ensure efficient vehicle flow and readiness.
• Monitor inventory aging and implement action plans to maintain healthy inventory levels.
• Train, coach, and develop sales managers and staff to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain relationships with auction representatives, wholesalers, and industry partners.
• Ensure compliance with all dealership policies and manufacturer requirements.
Requirements
• Previous experience as a Used Car Manager, Used Car Director, General Sales Manager, or similar automotive leadership role.
• Strong understanding of used vehicle acquisition, appraisal, pricing, and inventory management.
