Job description

Job Summary:
Dimmitt Chevrolet is seeking a skilled and experienced Used Car Service Technician to join our team in Clearwater, Florida. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry, offering a competitive compensation of $22 per hour, based on experience. As an individual contributor, the Used Car Service Technician will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks on pre-owned vehicles to ensure their safety and proper functioning.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, and battery replacements on pre-owned vehicles
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues on used cars and provide repair recommendations
- Conduct thorough and accurate vehicle inspections to identify potential safety hazards
- Complete necessary repairs and document all work performed in a timely manner
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functionality post-repair
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members to provide updates on repair progress and vehicle status
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a service technician in the auto industry
- Prior experience working with pre-owned vehicles preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
