The Opportunity:
  • You will develop and deliver training aids as specified in the PWS to USASOC units and their strategic partners, including Special Forces, Rangers, Civil Affairs, Psychological Operations, and Special Operations Aviation.
  • You will utilize 3D printing technologies and CAD software to create additive manufactured and other training aids that enhance realism and relevance for SOF-specific mission needs.
  • You will enable SOF Home Station Trainers to establish training conditions that closely mimic the client's operational environment.
  • You will help mitigate Peer, Near-Peer, and other adversaries' anti-access/area denial challenges and explosive threats by enhancing training to address tactical surprises and strategic impacts.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with SOF Home Station Trainers to understand requirements and objectives.
  • Utilize CAD software to create and modify 3D models.
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay informed about advancements in 3D printing technologies and techniques and propose innovative solutions to improve processes.
  • Enhance SOF effectiveness against improvised, conventional, and emerging threats and associated threat networks.Enable relevant and realistic improvised, conventional, and emergent threat training profiles.
  • Enable relevant and realistic National Defense Strategy (NDS) 2+3 emerging threat and near-peer training profiles.
  • Assists to implement the U.S. Army C-IED Strategy, USASOC C-IED Strategy, and HQDA CTIC guidance into Home Station and PMT for USASOC and their strategic partners to mitigate Peer, Near-Peer, and other adversaries' A2/AD
  • challenges to movement and maneuver and explosive threats' tactical surprise and strategic impacts.
  • Develop technical reports and briefings.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Current Secret clearance.
  • Minimum 10 years of military experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain various types of 3D printers (e.g., FDM, SLA, SLS).
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Blender, etc.) for 3D modeling and design.
  • Familiarity with post-processing techniques for 3D printed objects (e.g., sanding, painting, assembly).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with a track record of working in multidiscipline teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Basic electronics and soldering techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of the SOF training environment.
