Job description

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a proactive, driven, and strategic professional to join our team as a senior supply chain planner/buyer. In this position, you will manage materials, systems, and services globally in alignment with USANAโ€™s strategic business plan. You'll develop, execute, and manage procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of materials and components. Success in this role requires a proven ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and make confident decisions. This role also provides key supply chain and purchasing support to Summit Nutri-Science, USANAโ€™s contract manufacturing division.

What You Will Do as a USANA Sr. Supply Chain Planner/Buyer

  • Verify ERP data accuracy and maintain ERP item attributes to ensure proper signals
  • Develop, execute, and manage procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of materials and components
  • Create and maintain production plans aligning with demand forecasts, inventory targets, and company objectives
  • Analyze material requirements, lead times, and capacity constraints to mitigate risks and prevent production delays
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships to improve the supply chain, solve shortage issues and reduce costs and lead times
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and maintain quality standards
  • Manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality metrics, and compliance with company policies
  • Actively pursue and qualify additional sources for key materials/finished goods, working closely with R&D, Regulatory and Quality to ensure that specifications are comparable and acceptable

Background and Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in related field or equivalent planning/purchasing experience required
  • Five plus years in purchasing/planning or related experience in inventory management, planning or logistics
  • Strong purchasing experience with exposure to contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Solid and proven understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and capacity planning.
  • Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts and draws valid conclusions

What Will Make You Standout

  • Six Sigma/Lean/ISM/APICS certifications strongly preferred
  • Experience in contract manufacturing or co-manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for data analytics and supply chain decision-making

Please note: This is a Salt Lake City based hybrid position requiring in-office work three days a week; occasional travel may be necessary each year.
