Job description

Urban Engineers is seeking a seasoned Project Manager or senior-level Civil Engineer to lead aviation infrastructure projects and help shape the future of our Aviation Department. This role blends technical leadership, client engagement, and project delivery - ideal for an experienced engineer ready to guide teams and manage high-impact projects.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of airfield and landside civil design projects (scope, schedule, budget, and quality).
  • Oversee design of runways, taxiways, aprons, utilities, stormwater systems, and associated infrastructure.
  • Serve as primary client point of contact for airports and partner firms.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, including assigning tasks and reviewing deliverables.
  • Develop proposals, manage subconsultants, and lead progress meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, DOT, and state regulations.
  • Support business development efforts and proposal pursuits across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets.

Requirements:
  • Required:
    • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited Program
    • 8-15 years of professional experience in project management and civil/site design (aviation, roadway, transportation preferred).
    • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
    • Prior experience managing airport or transportation projects preferred.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
