Job description

SCS Engineers is a leader in the green industry, and we are growing.

At SCS, our workplace culture is guided by three core principles; trust, care, and grow. We are searching for an experienced AutoCAD Civil 3D drafter/designer who seeks opportunities to advance their career through collaboration and company-sponsored training. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, team-focused, and humble.
Work would include providing AutoCAD Civil 3D support for solid waste and environmental projects conducted for private and municipal clients. We are seeking a professional skilled in drafting for horizontal and vertical construction, adept at generating plan and profile views, cross-sections, as well as executing intricate grading and cut/fill balancing. Collaborating closely with our engineers, you will incorporate mark-ups, prepare figures, and develop permit and construction documentation. You will work with a team supporting you to independently complete tasks and projects. The position will report to either the West Palm Beach, Coconut Creek, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Moblie (AL), or Atlanta (GA) office, but a hybrid schedule may be arranged based on candidate experience level.


  • Perform preparation of sheet sets, designing, drafting, detailing, and graphics layout with limited supervision.
  • Prepare site plan layouts from existing maps, incorporate corrections to existing drawings, evaluate existing conditions surveys, etc.
  • Prepare permit and construction level documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Perform volume calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to create design surfaces, manage topographical survey surfaces, and integrate design surfaces into existing conditions.
  • Apply and follow appropriate AutoCAD standards and best practice.
  • Support all aspects of drafting or AutoCAD under the supervision of the lead professional.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting and design required. Experience in civil and site grading is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
  • Preference for candidates that have engineering consulting firm experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

USD $29.00 - USD $36.00 /Hr.
