Job description

Job Title:Truck Driver

Position Summary

Abita Brewing Company's Truck Driver is responsible for the delivery and return of product and supplies, safe driving while abiding by DOT regulations, delivery and pickup of product on schedule, logging delivery and pickups, and cleanliness and maintenance of tractor and trailer.  This position will follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Operate a tractor and trailer in a safe and orderly manner

Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of tractor and trailer

Responsible for scheduling route and appointment times and keeping on schedule

Safe Driving

Abiding and keeping up with Federal DOT Regulations


Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations. 

Flexible to work a rotating schedules as business needs arise (typical work week = 40 hours and/or 5 Over the Road Days)  

Position requires sitting for long periods of time while operating the truck, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and materials weighing up to 40 pounds

Routine pushing, pulling, reaching, upper body and arm rotation, arm extension, and climbing ladders

Exposure to various temperature changes

Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (ear plugs, gloves, boots, etc.)


Supervision of Others

This position does not require any management responsibilities.


Education/Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED 

Truck experience required, ability to pass truck driving skills test

Must have a valid CDL and the ability to pass the DOT physical

Basic knowledge of electronic driving logs

Knowledge of safe work operations, safety policies and procedures

Attention to details, ability to recognize when there is a problem

Love, appreciation and knowledge of beer, including a familiarity with the craft brewing industry and with beer styles

Must be eligible to work in the United States
