Work Environment

As a remote mental health counselor at Valiant Mind, you will leverage telehealth technology to conduct virtual sessions with clients throughout California. This flexible work setting allows you to choose your hours, with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday and the potential to work on weekends as needed. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, crisis assessments, and follow-up care to ensure comprehensive understanding and support for each patient.
  • Determine appropriate levels of care and coordinate patient dispositions, utilizing our telehealth platform for ease of access and documentation.
  • Complete required statistical reports to track patient progress and outcomes effectively.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including the Department of Corrections, to facilitate access to treatment and proper housing arrangements for patients.
  • Work closely with institutional programs to coordinate patient care seamlessly.
  • Lead group therapy sessions within mental health observation units, promoting collective healing and support.
  • Document all interactions and treatment plans accurately, using specialized electronic health record systems to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
  • Engage in weekly clinical supervision with your Clinical Supervisor to discuss cases, seek guidance, and enhance professional development.
  • Participate in mental health and medical rounds as assigned to integrate care across disciplines.
  • Contribute actively to case conferences and treatment planning sessions, ensuring all pertinent information is shared for optimal care.
  • May conduct psychological testing and interpret assessments as required.
  • Provide supervision to social work interns or student volunteers, fostering their growth and developing the next generation of mental health professionals.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
