Job Description:

This position builds and expands business relationships within the Small to Medium-sized Business (SMB) market, with a dedicated focus on healthcare customers. The role blends new business development with account growth, identifying logistics needs within prospective clients while deepening engagement with existing healthcare accounts. The goal is to drive revenue through strategic, customer-focused selling of UPS Global Freight Forwarding (GFF) services-including air, ocean, and ground transportation-under UPS Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) for Healthcare.

This individual collaborates with Small Parcel Healthcare and SMB Sales counterparts to deliver integrated logistics strategies that address the complex requirements of pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and diagnostic clients. The role also includes educating clients on UPS's technology platforms for tracking, billing, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and grows relationships within existing healthcare accounts to identify logistics needs and expand service usage
  • Proactively identifies and engages new healthcare prospects using territory planning, referrals, and industry insights
  • Positions UPS's freight forwarding capabilities as strategic tools to optimize healthcare clients' supply chains and support long-term business goals
  • Collaborates with Small Parcel Healthcare and SMB Sales partners to ensure alignment on strategy and customer engagement
  • Coordinates meetings with logistics, procurement, and operational stakeholders to position UPS as a trusted supply chain partner
  • Applies sales strategies and knowledge gained from training to uncover client needs and develop effective freight solutions
  • Uses CRM tools to manage a robust pipeline, document sales activities, and support strategic growth plans
  • Participates in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with customers and account teams to assess service performance and identify new opportunities
  • Educates customers on UPS digital platforms for shipment visibility, pricing, billing, and reporting
  • Participates in joint sales calls, enterprise collaboration meetings, and cross-functional efforts to support the Supply Chain Solutions and/or Healthcare vertical

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates ability to conduct research, develop territory sales plans, and maintain strong organizational and strategic planning skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
  • Minimum 3 years of Freight Forwarding sales experience - Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of successful territory management - Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience - Required
  • Business-to-Business or Business-to-Consumer sales experience, or UPS management or customer-facing role experience - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Business, Marketing, or related field - Preferred
  • Understanding of the healthcare sales landscape and regulated logistics requirements - Preferred

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Employer will not sponsor visas for this or future positions
  • Must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the position's geographic territory
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and travel as required

Pay Range:

The salary range for this position is $65,820.00/year to $98,760.00/year. Actual compensation is based on various factors such as location, job-related knowledge, skills, education/training, and work experience. This position is eligible for our sales incentive plan and offers the annual management incentive plan, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Incentives are not guaranteed and are dependent upon individual and/or company performance.
