Job description

As a Logistics Specialist II, you prepare our logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. You'll be responsible for routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, maintaining our records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals, and tracking logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of our storage facilities. You'll coordinate shipping activities which adhere to state, federal, and global regulations and import/export requirements.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and documentation of logistics materials, including spares, tools, and equipment.

  • Manage the shipping and routing of materials, ensuring compliance with regulations.

  • Maintain and analyze records of equipment, components, repair parts, and related manuals.

  • Optimize the allocation and organization of storage facilities for logistics materials.

  • Ensure compliance with import/export requirements.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Logistics Specialist I.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 1+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of state, federal, and global regulations related to logistics.

  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

  • Basic understanding of Inventory and Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques.

  • Experience with inventory databases.

  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.

  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.

  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.

  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.

  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.

  • Please be advised that this position may require deployment for a period of up to 90 days, depending on mission needs. Deployment is not guaranteed and will be determined at the discretion of the supervisor or management, or as otherwise specified.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • Advanced proficiency in logistics software and tools.

  • Familiarity with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems

  • HazMat Training/Certification.

  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Experience with shipping databases, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS.

  • Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record.

  • Understanding of shelf life.

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
