The Sales & Technical Trainer delivers engaging, hands-on learning experiences for customers, contractors, distribution partners, and internal sales teams. This role is ideal for individuals with plumbing or HVAC trade experience who enjoy teaching others, leading classroom sessions, and demonstrating real-world applications of Uponor products and systems.
While some collaboration on training materials is expected, the primary focus is facilitation, instruction, and customer-facing education, not curriculum development.
This hybrid role is based at our North American Headquarters in Apple Valley, MN, with up to 20% travel.
What You'll Be Doing
Customer & Contractor Education
  • Deliver world-class technical training sessions; both classroom and hands-on covering Uponor/GF products, applications, installation best practices, and system design.
  • Lead customer engagement events that showcase the value proposition of Uponor solutions and support contractor confidence, loyalty, and adoption.
  • Provide practical demonstrations that translate complex concepts into real-world jobsite understanding.

Sales & Product Training Delivery
  • Facilitate sales onboarding and product/application training for internal sales teams.
  • Teach selling skills, value-based messaging, and solution positioning to support profitable growth.
  • Coach sales teams on applying tools, playbooks, and methodologies in the field.

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure training content remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for both technical and sales audiences.

Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Gather feedback and track key performance indicators to measure training effectiveness.
  • Recommend improvements to training delivery, tools, and customer engagement experiences.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience as a licensed plumber or HVAC technician.
  • 5-7 years of experience in training, technical instruction, sales, or field leadership within plumbing, HVAC, hydronics, or construction.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead engaging classroom, virtual, and hands-on sessions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and adapt to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; comfort with learning new training technologies.

Preferred
  • Experience coaching sales teams or supporting customer-facing technical roles.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Articulate, WebEx, SharePoint, or LMS platforms.
  • Experience applying modern instructional methods to technical or trade audiences.
