Job description

Overview

The Measurement Technician is a qualified professional responsible for the oversight, accuracy, reliability, and maintenance of gas and liquid measurement systems. This role provides technical expertise in calibration, tank gauging, meter proving, instrumentation, controls, and regulatory measurement standards to ensure safe, compliant, and accurate hydrocarbon measurement operations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support measurement systems for gas and liquid hydrocarbons
  • Perform and support calibration of tanks, tank cars, and measurement equipment
  • Conduct tank gauging, meter proving, and volumetric calculations
  • Apply temperature and pressure corrections to measurement data
  • Utilize control charting methods and basic statistical concepts
  • Provide operability and maintainability input for Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) systems
Qualifications
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate measurement and instrumentation equipment
  • Install and maintain radio communication equipment and ensure reliable uplink
  • Orifice, Ultrasonic, Turbine, and Coriolis meters
  • AGA Measurement Standards
  • Fisher ROC and ABB configurations
  • Hydrocarbon sampling for laboratory analysis
  • Maintain strict compliance with company safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Actively support and promote a strong safety culture
  • Set and manage process controls in field environments and processing plants
  • Maintain, calibrate, test, and perform preventative maintenance on measurement equipment
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and perform diagnostics on RTU equipment
  • Troubleshoot and calibrate transmitters and communication equipment
  • Install and test flow transmitters in the field
  • Test and verify gas moisture content, gravity, and CO levels
  • Experience installing and maintaining Fisher ROC and ABB gas measurement equipment
  • Familiarity with WinCCU software
  • Prior experience in a closely related role within oil & gas, midstream, or pipeline operations
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR check, fit for duty and agility.
