Summary
Balfour Beatty is seeking an Unskilled Laborer to join our team at a state-of-the art operations facility consisting of a multi-story building that will include open office areas, collaborative multi-discipline workspace, computer labs and virtual instruction/distance learning-enable classrooms along with an accompanying parking garage. This project is design-build. The Unskilled Laborer's activities are coordinated with the Carpenter Foreman, Project Manager and/or the Superintendent to maintain productivity of the jobsite.
Essential Functions
Performs a variety of tasks to maintain productivity of the jobsite. Tasks can include, but are not limited to:
o Manual labor including but not limited to job site cleaning and maintenance
o Stocking and moving of job site material
o Works daily with brooms, wheelbarrows and small hand tools
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
• The majority of the work is completed on project sites, where site conditions can vary depending on the scope and phase of the project. Work environments include but are not limited to jobsite trailers, existing structures, structures under construction, newly constructed structures, and outside in the elements. Personal Protective Equipment and appropriate attire must be worn at all times, as required by the company's safety policies, and as required for the tasks being performed.
• The project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations, if necessary.
Education, Experience, and Knowledge
• High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training required.
• 10-hour OSHA trained preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Training preferred.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
• Ability to clearly speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to write with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar.
• Must be able to read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of truck, tools and equipment, and methods and procedures.
• Understands safety rules and tool / equipment instructions.
This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security credential. Due to federal contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Pay Rate: $18-24/hour
