Whatย You'll Doย 

As a key member of the Operations team, you will play a crucial role in managing inbound vehicles, with a strong focus on safety. Success in this role will require the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment. As a Yard Associate, you'll be responsible for:ย 

  • Safely operating vehicles both on-site and on public roadways.ย 
  • Conducting vehicle inspections and maintaining accurate inventory records.ย 
  • Collaborating closely with team members to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Load and unload vehicles from train cars.
  • Driving team members in a van to designated locations when assigned.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors to support operational needs.ย 

Candidate Requirementsย 

We are seeking a self-motivated and collaborative Yard Associate with at least 5 years of driving experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic along with respect for people and our policies and values.ย 

  • Strong driving skills with an exemplary level of safety awareness, quality, and compliance.ย 
  • Proficiency in operating handheld scanners and other equipment.ย 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.ย 
  • Must hold a current, valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.ย 
  • Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check.ย 

Physical Demands of the Jobย 

  • Work in various indoor and outdoor environments.ย 
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, work instructions, procedure manuals, and policies.ย 
  • Quickly respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.ย 
  • Comfortably wear personal protective equipment.ย 
  • Frequently navigate a busy environment.ย 
  • Occasionally carry, lift, move, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.ย 
  • Maintain stationary positions for extended durations as needed.ย 
  • Visual acuity and physical dexterity are essential for performing the duties associated with the role.ย 

Additional Informationย 

  • This position requires the employee to be onsite.ย 
  • A person applying for this position must be available to work full-time, weekends, nights, or an on-call schedule when necessary.
  • As an employee, you will be responsible for retaining a valid driver's license, free from any drug or alcohol-related driving convictions or reckless driving and always remain "insurable" while operating company owned or controlled vehicles.ย
