Job description

Grand Canyon University is seeking a University Tutor to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU's ACE Services department.
Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to provide academic group or one on one support to University students who need help in their perspective course work. These roles serve ground traditional students.
If you have a passion for helping others, you will be trained in the best practices of tutoring to assist you in tutoring GCU students.
The ACE Centers are open Monday through Thursday 10AM - 8PM and Sunday 10AM-8PM.
This position is currently hiring ACE Nursing Tutors to provide tutoring to students in the following degree programs/areas of study:
  • Nursing (Prerequisites and Levels 1-4)
  • Ability to provide support in CHM-101and MAT-274 a plus
  • Must be available to work on-ground in-person on the Phoenix campus for both BSN ground and ABSN programs.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
  • Provide tutoring/coaching for students; reviewing course lectures, homework, etc.
  • Review diagnostic assessments of students.
  • Collect and maintain student data related to tutoring assistance, assessment, and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and services provided.
  • May be requested to perform administrative duties for the Center Operations as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Must have current 3.25 GPA or above and an "A" in specific course for which you will be tutoring students or referral from faculty.
  • Must have a passion and willingness to help others succeed.
  • Possess strong ethics and integrity.
  • Preferred Availability: 15 hours per week.

Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
