Position Description
Posting Number 01070 Position Title Student Assistant - Marching Band Department School of Design, Arts, and Communication: Bands Position Summary

The student(s) will assist the marching band by loading and unloading equipment during class time and performances. The student(s) will perform clerical duties for the Director of Bands, which include but are not limited to; answering the telephone, filing, copying, retrieve on campus mail, and making on campus deliveries. The student(s) will assist the Administrative Assistant with all day-to-day operations of the Office.

Education/Experience

Currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically and judicially with prior experience with instrumental and/or choral music is desired, but not required.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

Familiar with the Microsoft Office program; (knowledge of MAC OS is a plus);

Good telephone etiquette skills

Positive attitude

Ability to follow directions/accept directions and a proper work-place demeanor are essential as a student employee.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

Light work: exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Keyboarding, standing and/or sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal.

Essential Functions

Assist where needed while working recruiting events

Assist with clerical data entry

Assist with keeping the band offices and storage room clean and orderly

Assist with recruitment phone calls

Help set-up for special events

Move and set up equipment as directed

Perform general office tasks related to data entry, filing and organizing the office

Respond to communications via phone, in person and/or email

Work events as scheduled
