Overview
University Instructors (UI) is seeking a dynamic Instructor Support Specialist passionate about supporting students to lead our K-12 programs. In this role, you will work in schools as the primary day-to-day contact for UI instructors, providing guidance and resources to support effective teaching across various grade levels and content areas.

Responsibilities
Daily Program & Instructor Support

Support a caseload of K-12 schools and/or districts as an integral member of the UI team
โข
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for UI instructors, addressing logistical questions and immediate needs
โข
Monitor elements of program implementation, including instructor attendance, assignment changes, and instructor progress
โข
Complete weekly classroom walkthroughs to monitor program delivery and instructional quality
โข
Provide daily support to UI instructors that improves instruction and student learning and aligns with school administrator's instructional goals and strategies
โข
Track and approve instructor timecard submissions
โข
Complete Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) for instructors as needed
โข
Ensure UI instructors transition smoothly into school assignments and are set up for success from day 1 with necessary materials, access, and information
โข
Act as a mentor for UI instructors by providing direction, support, and encouragement in navigating classroom dynamics, school systems, and district procedures
โข
Maintain open lines of communication with instructors throughout the program, ensuring understanding of responsibilities, performance expectations, and compliance requirements
โข
Connect instructors with appropriate UI resources, including referring them to Instructor Quality Specialists for instructional coaching and additional pedagogical support
โข
Collaborate with Instructor Quality Specialists to implement formal instructional coaching cycles
Professional Development & Training

Facilitate instructor onboarding and orientation focused on UI procedures and program specifics
โข
Deliver ongoing professional learning opportunities to build instructor capacity in content delivery and student engagement
โข
Tailor training content to align with campus operational and instructional expectations
Compliance & Safety
โข
Document and immediately report any safety or compliance concerns shared by instructors
โข
Ensure instructors understand and follow school and district policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
โข
Monitor program compliance with contractual requirements and UI policies
Collaborative Communication

Collaborate with Instructor Quality Specialists to ensure instructors receive comprehensive support and share observations that may inform instructional coaching
โข
Communicate and meet with supervisor to provide updates on instructor performance, potential issues with program implementation, changes in instructor assignments that impact program quality, and any concerns including those received from school administration and staff

Provide feedback and recommendations on aspects of program implementation and instructor progress
School Partnerships

Maintain a positive rapport with school administration and staff
โข
Address and share concerns raised by school partners in a timely and professional manner
โข
Align support with school administration's campus systems and expectations
โข
Complete other duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- An understanding of instructional pedagogies and methodologies
- The ability to effectively manage clients
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary
- The ability to meet deadlines
- Strong ability to work both independently with little supervision and collaboratively as part of a team
Education and Work Experience
As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for advocating for and helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to:
- Hold a bachelor's degree AND
- Commit to working 35-40 hours each week AND
- Demonstrate ONE of the following:
o At least 2-3 years of experience working in a K-12 educational setting OR
o Any similar combination of education and experience
Prior supervisory, project management, and client management experience, strongly preferred.
Experience working with students who are neurodivergent and in Special Education program, preferred.
Compensation
$35 Houry/ Expected Hours between 25-40 hours a week during the school yaer
