Job Summary:
The Head of School is responsible for providing spiritual, academic, and operational leadership
to ensure the effective daily operation of Jewell School. This role requires a passionate leader
whose Christian faith deeply informs their approach to fostering a safe, nurturing, and
academically rigorous environment, integrating Biblical values thoughtfully into every aspect of
school life for the holistic development of students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
โย Spiritual Leadership:
โ Model a Christ-centered life, demonstrating spiritual maturity, integrity, and servant
leadership.
โ Thoughtfully promote and integrate Christian principles, fostering an environment
where faith inspires excellence and compassion in all aspects of school life.
โ Lead school-wide devotions, prayer meetings, and chapel services, emphasizing
spiritual growth and a deep understanding of God's word.
โย Academic Leadership:
โ Oversee curriculum development to ensure alignment with both state standards and
a robust Christian educational philosophy, fostering critical thinking and intellectual
curiosity.
โ Support teachers in instructional best practices and professional development,
nurturing a culture of continuous improvement in an atmosphere of grace.
โ Monitor and evaluate academic performance, implementing data-driven strategies for
continuous improvement while celebrating individual student growth.
โ Foster a culture of academic excellence anchored in Christian virtues, encouraging
students to pursue truth and knowledge for God's glory.
โย Administrative Leadership:
oย Encourage and facilitate team building and create an environment of unity amongst
all staff.
oย Make sound decisions involving faculty and students in various situational matters
as needed
oย Facilitate and discern the varied differences between belief systems and religions of
some the diverse families and students in our schoolโensuring all students and
staff are treated equally and justly.
โ Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and facilities,
with wisdom, integrity, and stewardship.
โ Lead and supervise teaching and support staff, including hiring, evaluations, and
conflict resolution, cultivating a collaborative and supportive professional
community.โ Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, safety regulations, and school
policies, upholding high standards of governance and care.
โ Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, staff, students, and the school
board, fostering transparency and strong partnerships.
โ Oversee the development and execution of engaging school tours for prospective
families to support enrollment efforts.
โย Community Engagement:
โ Build strong, authentic relationships with families, churches, and the broader
Christian community, reflecting Christ's love and unity.
โ Promote the school through marketing, outreach, and enrollment efforts, articulating
Jewell School's distinct mission and values.
โ Act as a faithful representative of the schoolโs mission and vision in public settings,
embodying the school's commitment to Christian education.
Qualifications:
โ A committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, actively involved in a
local church, and demonstrating a mature walk of faith.
โ Experience in leadership roles, implementing communication, and organizational skills,
with an emphasis on effective team building.
โ Demonstrated knowledge of Christian education philosophy, school governance, and best
practices in faith-based learning environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
โ Bachelorโs degree in Education or related field.
โ Masterโs degree in Educational Leadership or Administration.
โ Minimum 3โ5 years of progressive teaching or administrative experience in a Christian or
private school setting, demonstrating effective leadership and educational insight.
โ ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) certification or willingness to obtain.
โ Experience with school accreditation processes, demonstrating a commitment to
continuous improvement and accountability.
โ Familiarity with diverse Christian curriculum programs and effective integration strategies
that enhance student learning and spiritual formation.
