Role Overview: Roadway Foreman
As a Roadway Foreman at United Infrastructure Group (UIG), you will oversee and coordinate all aspects of roadway construction projects. Your responsibilities include managing crews, ensuring safety, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project. You will work directly with tools, lumber, and materials, and perform tasks that require physical strength and dexterity. Additionally, you will be responsible for training subordinates, inspecting work areas, and communicating effectively with both the crew and management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Typical Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction crews on site.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to project plans and specifications.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures on the job site.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions
  • Communicate construction needs, such as materials, equipment, and staffing, to the Superintendent.
  • Provide clear directions and answer questions from the crew.
  • Maintain effective communication with management to prevent delays.
  • Inspect work areas throughout the construction process to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Verify that all work meets project specifications and productivity goals.
  • Operate and oversee the use of construction equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and operation.
  • Drive piles and work off the ground positioning piles in leads, climbing ladders up to 60 feet.
  • Assist with steel and concrete girder erection, assembling and guiding girders into position.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Five years of related experience and training.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and analyze plans and specifications.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work on schedule.
  • Effective communication of plans and work schedules to crew and management.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a team.
  • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
  • Ability to formulate sound decisions using available information.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a truck.
  • Ability to use a smartphone, iPad, and computer.
  • Must follow policies and procedures and support UIG's mission.

REQUIREMENTS: ALL Applicants must be:
  • 18 years of Age
  • Able to pass a Drug Test
  • Legally Eligible to Work in the US
  • Open to working different shifts if needed by the project
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsite every workday (driver's license preferred)
  • Must provide own hand tools (excluding power tools)
  • Willingness to travel for project requirements (multi-state opportunities)
