Job Description:
UAX has an opening for an experienced and dependable Automotive Mechanic. Our fast-paced service shop offers unique opportunities to work on a highly diverse array of products, ranging from domestic to foreign manufacturers, including gas, diesel, and flex-fuel power sources. The environment also offers additional opportunities to work on power sport, RV, and marine units.
In this position, your job duties will include:
  • Inspect and diagnose drivability issues and any mechanical defects on a wide variety of makes and models, including electrical, drivability, computer, brake system, suspension, heating and A/C, and exhaust issues.
  • Perform a wide range of predominantly light repair work including battery replacement to replacement of minor and major components and diagnose and repair electrical, drivability (computer systems), brake systems, tires and suspension, A/C, exhaust, fuel and ignition parts.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance on our company fleet vehicles.

We have a very relaxed, informal work atmosphere, and a family-friendly Mon-Fri daytime work schedule, with early release on Fridays.
The pay for this position varies - regular or flag hour. Our full-time employees may participate in major medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans, and a 401(k) Savings Plan with company match. We also offer paid time off and promotional opportunities.
Earning potential $80k+
Requirements
Experience and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent along with at least 3-5 years related experience and/or training
  • ASE certifications a plus, as is diesel diagnostic and repair experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be least 21 years old

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to withstand physical demands of repetitive tasks (Bend, kneel, twist, squat, stand, climb, stand, stretch, walk, stoop, push/pull, use hands, reach with hands and arms)
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stay focused for long durations

Physical Work Environment:
  • The position is performed in a garage setting with exposure to outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors and dust.
