Job Title: Firmware Validation Modernization Lead / Embedded Validation Architect

Key Skills: Embedded C/C++ Development and Testing, White-Box Testing & Firmware Unit Testing.

Experience: 8-10 Years’ experience

Location: San Diego/Los Angeles California (Onsite)


Coforge is seeking a customer-facing Firmware Validation Modernization Lead to assess and modernize firmware testing practices by reducing hardware dependency and shifting defect detection earlier in the software development lifecycle. The role involves evaluating validation frameworks, driving POCs, and defining a modernization roadmap.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess existing firmware validation, unit testing, HIL testing, and ASIC/SoC simulation environments.
  • Evaluate and recommend firmware testing frameworks and tools.
  • Drive framework selection, POCs, and modernization initiatives.
  • Implement software-only validation approaches using mocking and stubbing.
  • Improve test coverage through fuzzing, mutation testing, boundary and negative testing.
  • Collaborate with firmware architects, validation teams, and customer stakeholders.
  • Present recommendations, roadmap, and executive-level findings.
  • Promote AI-assisted development and testing practices.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Embedded Systems & Firmware Validation.
  • Embedded C/C++ Development and Testing.
  • White-Box Testing & Firmware Unit Testing.
  • ASIC, SoC, Device Drivers, HAL, and Simulation Environments.
  • Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Testing.
  • Mocking, Stubbing, and Test Automation.
