Job description

Summary
The Nurse Extern is currently enrolled in a School of Nursing and who has successfully completed two Clinical Nursing courses. When on duty, The Nurse Extern assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic patient care which is designed to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of the patient. The Nurse Extern may also be cross trained to perform unit Secretary clerical duties. The nurse Extern may perform nursing practice interventions which have been learned within his/her clinical training and which have been successfully validated by an RN staff member.

Completion of first Clinical Nursing course within an accredited school of Nursing Program
Required licensures/certifications
Current BLS Certificate
Skills and Abilities
Good oral and written communication skills in the English language.
