Overview 


Everyday Coffee Company, a rapidly scaling Dunkin’ franchise partner, is building a best-in-class financial and operational infrastructure to support nationwide growth. As we open hundreds of new locations annually across multiple states, strong financial planning, disciplined execution, and scalable financial systems are critical to our success. 


We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial planning, analysis, accounting oversight, forecasting, and operational financial support across a multi-state, multi-unit restaurant environment. This role serves as a strategic advisor to Operations and Executive Leadership while ensuring accurate reporting, financial discipline, and scalable financial processes. 


The ideal candidate brings experience in restaurant or retail finance, thrives in a fast-paced growth environment, and can translate financial data into clear, actionable operational insights.

Key Responsibilities 


Financial Leadership & Operational Partnership 


  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to Operations, HR, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership 
  • Analyze financial and operational performance and deliver actionable insights 
  • Support financial decision-making related to new restaurant openings, capital investments, and strategic initiatives 
  • Partner with Operations leaders to improve financial discipline and operational performance 

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting 


  • Lead and continuously refine budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes 
  • Maintain and optimize multi-year planning models and forecasting tools 
  • Develop rolling forecasts and five-year business plans in partnership with department leaders 
  • Support capital planning and expansion modeling for new restaurant openings 

Financial Reporting & Performance Management 


  • Oversee preparation of accurate, timely financial statements and management reporting 
  • Establish and monitor key financial and operational performance metrics (KPIs) 
  • Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance 
  • Support executive leadership with financial analysis and reporting for strategic decisions 

Accounting, Treasury & Compliance 


  • Ensure accurate accounting, treasury, and cash management across all ECC legal entities 
  • Support audit preparation, financial reviews, and external reporting requirements 
  • Oversee multi-state sales tax compliance and regulatory reporting 
  • Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to GAAP standards 
  • Support debt covenant reporting and financial compliance requirements 

Systems, Tools & Process Optimization 


  • Support scalable financial systems and reporting infrastructure aligned with ECC’s growth model 
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve system integrations, data flows, and reporting accuracy 
  • Ensure effective utilization of key financial systems, including: 
  • NetSuite 
  • NetSuite Planning & Budgeting 
  • CrunchTime 
  • Emburse 
  • Ottimate 
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and process improvement 

Team Leadership & Organizational Scaling 


  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting team members 
  • Support the development of scalable financial processes and organizational structure 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement 

Qualifications 


Required 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 
  • 7+ years of finance and/or accounting experience 
  • Strong experience in multi-unit restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments preferred 
  • Deep knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and GAAP accounting principles 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling 
  • Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, CrunchTime, Emburse, Ottimate, or similar platforms 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills 

Preferred 


  • MBA or CPA designation 
  • Experience supporting multi-state, multi-unit QSR or franchise environments 
  • Experience supporting rapid growth, new unit expansion, or startup environments 
  • Experience building scalable financial reporting and planning infrastructure
