Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our Distribution Group in Waco, TX. This role performs all Customer Service activities including processing customer demand (via purchase orders, customer portals, or EDI communication), responding to new & existing customer supply chain actions, and addressing customer questions/concerns appropriately.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides timely and professional service to assigned customer or distributor accounts using appropriate processes and communication channels
  • Actively targets prospective customers based on relevant sources, both remotely and in person as necessary, to qualify leads and sell Howmet products
  • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert into new business
  • Receives, enters and edits sales orders and changes thereto in accordance with company procedures
  • Checks stock and future production for customers and distributors
  • Answers general inquiries concerning open orders
  • Receives, responds to and routes requests for quotations as appropriate
  • Receives, responds to and routes requests for technical information, sales literature, material certifications and returned material
  • Uses knowledge of product, availability and customer need to best fill the order, coordinates with appropriate internal resources to answer more advanced questions
  • Researches customer charge-backs and administers appropriate actions
  • Works to improve knowledge of product and processes on a continual basis
  • Advises Marketing Department and field sales representatives of significant information learned in customer correspondence
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards
  • Continuously seeks improved techniques for performing job duties and engages with peers to learn and share best practices as they emerge
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the company Code of Conduct
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 1+ years experience in customer service or supply chain roles
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess the ability to problem solve
  • Possesses organizational skills and has a high attention to detail
  • Must be able to work effectively with various functions as well as work independently
  • Strong computer and business software skills, with an emphasis in Excel
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
