Unit Manager

Job Title: Unit Manager
Job Location: Coventry, RI
Company Name: Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Unit Manager to join our team at the Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the operations of the unit, overseeing the care provided by the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Registered Nurses (RNs) on the unit, and ensuring resident and family needs are met per the resident's care plan. You will also assist with admissions, attend facility meetings, and meet with family members to keep open lines of communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the unit, ensuring that patient care is delivered in a safe and efficient manner

  • Supervise CNAs, LPNs, and RNs, providing guidance and coaching as needed

  • Conduct regular rounds to ensure that patients are receiving high-quality care

  • Assist with admissions, including assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans

  • Attend facility meetings as the unit representative, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with other departments

  • Meet with family members to keep them informed of their loved one's progress and address any concerns

  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient charts and unit reports

  • Work a med-cart as needed.

Requirements:

  • RN preferred, LPN's will be considered

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Strong leadership and management skills
