We provide the highest quality of care for the Douglasville senior community with a commitment to proudly serve our community's long-term care and rehabilitation needs. We offer services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and dementia/Alzheimer's care. General Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, the Unit Manager hasauthority, responsibility and accountability for the overall management of residents on adesignated unit. The Unit Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating, andsupervising the activities of nursing staff engaged in specific nursing practices and isresponsible for transmitting each unit's staff concerns to the appropriate departmentsupervisor. 


Essential Duties

  1. Perform various duties to provide quality nursing care to residents to maintain orattain the highest practical level of functioning as illustrated by the following: Plans effective administration of nursing care in cooperation with otherhealth related disciplines on each unit. Evaluates incidents and determines emergency measures to be used.Monitors and directs emergency treatment to residents and staff involvedin accidents. If necessary, notifies the attending physicians andappropriate persons. Completes the incident report with causesinvestigated and corrective actions taken and/or suitable recommendationsmade to avoid recurrence, for review by Facility Quality AssuranceCommittee. Updates the Care Plan with new interventions.
  2. Handles resident or staff grievances and/or refers them to the appropriatedepartment supervisor.
  3. Conducts resident rounds to monitor and/or supervise nursing care,observe and report on condition of residents, and promote a safe, clean,comfortable environment.
  4. Establishes and maintains resident care systems per standardized procedure that areconsistent throughout the Facility.
  5. Assists in establishing and maintaining a positive staff and good publicrelations.

Other Duties

Provides hands on nursing care to residents as needed as a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse,consistent with the state's Nurse Practice Act.Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, butwhich may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Performsother work duties as assigned.
