Job description

Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Unit Controller at a University in the Richmond, VA area.  The position will provide multi-location support in all financial aspects, which include accounts payable, cash management, accounts receivable, accruals, budget, forecasting, financial reporting, trend analysis, and inventory analysis. The candidate will also ensure financial compliance and make recommendations to the General Manager for improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, solid financial experience, and a clear working knowledge of Sodexo's / or a similar financial platform. This position will require a flexible, systems-savvy candidate with stellar communication skills and the ability and willingness to quickly identify issues and arrive at a solution. Multi-unit, high-volume, financial reporting & accounting experience is essential.

What You'll Do
  • Review financial data for accuracy before weekend, period-end, and year-end financial close
  • Responsible for all transactions for weekly, monthly, and annual close, ensuring contract compliance
  • Manage all accounting and financial matters for all cost centers, including account reconciliations, accounts payable, billing, budget, reporting, inventory, transfers, etc.
  • Performs trend analysis to assist decision-making
  • Analyzes year-over-year spending variances to assist with the budgeting process
  • Builds strong relationships with all levels of the organization to ensure operational effectiveness
