Job description

Business Unit Controller
What we are looking for:
Aldridge is seeking a Business Unit Controller to join our team and provide hands-on support for assigned divisions in key financial and accounting operations - with primary focus on cash flow and forecasting.
What you'll do:
  • Collaborate as a strategic partner with executive leadership to forecast fiscal year revenue, margin, change orders, contingencies, job cost, and overhead.
  • Manage and develop a team of Project Accountants with compassion for employee development.
  • Prepare and present monthly Business Unit and Joint Venture financial reports.
  • Monitor key metrics of financial health including cash position and job profit and drive effective cash management.
  • Continuously develop improved reporting and analysis to support Division Management.
  • Proactive, hands-on, strategic financial support of the CFO, COO, and Division Vice-Presidents through annual business planning and special projects.
  • Lead cash collection efforts to drive ever-improving DSO and cash opportunities.
  • Monitor payables including check audits and providing an accounting lens for contract changes.
  • Lead monthly Business Unit operations and overhead forecast process and prepare financial statements and variance analysis.
  • In-depth tracking and knowledge of all large jobs.
  • Drive high-performing Finance department improvement initiatives.
  • Key contributor in Division financial systems development.
  • Assist in development of annual Business Plan and monthly forecasts for the business unit.

Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with relevant equivalent business experience
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • 5-12 years' experience (functional and people management responsibilities)
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Ability to be a strong but diplomatic advocate for your ideas in front of executives

What we offer:
The annual base pay for this role is between $115,000 - $130,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions.
