Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.

This job is ON - SITE.

FTE: 0.001000

Standard Hours: 0.01

Shift: Shift 4

Job Summary:

Participates with the interdisciplinary care team in the delivery of the patient's plan of care. Provides hands on patient care and will assist the RN and other team members with treatments, procedures, and reporting pertinent information to the appropriate care team member. Performs specific service and technical duties necessary to provide for the comfort, care, and safety of patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment on the nursing unit. Does not function as a Patient Safety Attendant (sitter). Cannot float to CMH Mental Health Center. Reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty on each assigned shift.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Good interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors and hospital personnel. Sound communication and writing skills. Math skills to perform simple arithmetic calculations. Observational and analytical skills to identify patient changes/problems to prioritize and react appropriately. Familiarity with PCs and other computerized patient care tools, or demonstrated ability to learn.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
