Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' counseling needs, focusing on mental health and substance use issues.
  • Utilize the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) to determine substance abuse diagnoses, and apply ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria to recommend appropriate levels of care.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate substance abuse counseling, ensuring goals are met and documented in clinical records.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Executive Director to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all clients.
  • Continuous documentation of all counseling services, assessments, and treatment progress to comply with clinical standards and provide evidence-based care.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, coordinating case management and conducting regular utilization reviews.
  • Facilitate necessary interventions for clients facing crises, employing a multi-disciplinary team approach to enhance their recovery prospects.
  • Engage in the development and implementation of client discharge and continuum of care plans, supporting their transition to lower levels of care as appropriate.
  • Serve as a liaison with external stakeholders, including legal, educational, and employment resources, to create a holistic support system for clients and their families.
