Role and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the CFO, the Accounting Manager will maintain reliable accounting information and reporting on income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and capital for management planning, budgeting, decision making and for the fulfillment of financial reporting requirements. Reconcile GL and bank accounts. Ensure that reports, accounts, systems, policies, and practices adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Leads and supervises the accounting staff, overseeing employee performance, scheduling, timekeeping, workflow management, training, and the efficient execution of accounting operations. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting mandatory; MBA with an accounting concentration or CPA highly desired.

Experience:
  • Must possess advanced knowledge and understanding of GAAP, account reconciliation, and financial management.
  • A minimum of five years of accounting and management experience in a credit union or financial service institution is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing personnel through effective coaching, constructive feedback, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and day-to-day operational leadership.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to produce Excel documents, pivots, v-lookups, spreadsheets, databases, etc., with Windows-based software.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills in person, by telephone, and in writing.
  • Well established interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with others respectfully and professionally, active listening skills, adaptability, and the ability to build positive relationships.

Work Schedule:
This position will be scheduled 35 to 40 hours per week.
Accounting Department Hours:
Monday-Friday: 8:30am to 5:00pm
