About The Role 

Responsible for active management of the asset/liability position of the credit union, supported by recommending strategies for current and future products. Management of the investment portfolio under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. Maintain lines of credit with corresponding institutions, providing access to liquidity and other means of balance sheet management. Provide complex ongoing and ad-hoc financial and system analysis, recommendations and system configurations, supporting key objectives for current and long-term business plans and strategies. Proactively manages assigned vendors and collaborates and leads people with integrity and enthusiasm.

RESPONSIBILITIES   
  •  Provide people leadership that inspires enthusiasm and accountability that drives our Mission. Build engagement and communicate honestly and openly. Rally coworkers around our shared vision, modeling and expecting the best from individuals and your team.
  • Key player in ad hoc analysis of various aspects of the credit union operations, including strategic overarching analysis such as market footprint and prioritization assessments.
  • Collaborates with business intelligence and others as a key data steward, especially as it pertains to membership, balance sheet, and profit.
  • Manages assigned vendors including, completing vendor due diligence, annual reviews, and ongoing approvals of invoices to ensure billing follows contractual agreements. Works diligently to optimize pricing and services, managing renewals and coordinating appropriate RFIs or RFPs from competitors.
  • Develop and manage cash flow systems to ensure operational and member liquidity needs are met without excessive liquidity including establishing and maintaining lines of credit with corresponding institutions and brokers/dealers.
  • Maintain investment portfolio under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer according to policies and procedures.  Explore investment opportunities for increasing the return on investments while meeting asset/liability goals.  Serve as liaison with regulators as appropriate. 
  • Member of Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO) and its Loan and Deposit Pricing sub-committees.  Oversee monthly and quarterly asset/liability analysis for ALCO, present findings and recommend strategies. Serve as liaison with regulators as appropriate. 
  • Key player in development of products, services and processes. Follow through on opportunities to increase revenue and improve engagement through product offerings that are consistent with Columbia’s deposit, loan, investment and income strategies. 
  • Establish and supervise maintenance of organization, product and member profitability systems.  Present findings and recommended strategies. 
  • Participates in Change Management meetings, and reviews internal and external content for accuracy, monitors and recommends changes in deposit rates and fee schedule. Coordinates with VP Director Commercial & Business Services regarding business/commercial deposit-related content and pricing approvals. 
  • Participate in the annual balance sheet budget process. Provide membership and deposit growth and attrition projections and update monthly key metrics. 
  • Manage Lock Desk for Mortgage Lending.
  • Key player working with Lending teams on consistent reporting for committee and regulatory reporting. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in treasury, finance, or a related financial function, with demonstrated impact through Asset Liability and liquidity management in complex or varied economic environments.
  • 4+ years’ experience in people leadership including crossfunctional teams, coaching talent, and building highperforming, futureready individual; financial institution leadership experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience leading analysis of future investment opportunities and advising senior leadership on treasury investment strategy is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience developing and evolving treasury products, services, or capabilities.
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative analytical, organizational and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including MS Office suite with demonstrated advanced skills in Excel.

COMPENSATION

  • $130,000.00 - $160,000.00/ year
  • Eligible to earn Back Office Incentive
