Job description

Position location: Austin, TX

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Western Union will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Role Responsibilities

Senior Software Engineer (front end focused) will design, develop, and deliver highquality applications using Angular, and AWS. You will collaborate closely with product, architecture, and backend engineers to build scalable, secure, and highperformance front-end solutions. Experience in the fintech industry is highly desirable.

  • Develop high-quality, responsive web applications using Angular
  • Build scalable and resilient front-end applications
  • Design and deploy cloud native solutions on AWS
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and UX teams to deliver end-to-end features
  • Ensure code quality through test driven development (TDD), code reviews, and best engineering practices
  • Problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional and collaborative practices.

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree with 4 years of experience; bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience. Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • 4+ years frontend skills with Angular(TypeScript/JavaScript).
  • 4+ experience in RESTful microservices architecture.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud, preferably AWS(Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, etc.).
  • 3+ years experience with CI/CD, Docker, and modern DevOps practices
  • 3+ system design experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Fintech experience(payments, risk, compliance, banking, etc.)
  • Knowledge of security, authentication, and regulatory considerations
  • UI/UX awareness and ability to work with design systems
  • AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification.

Work Shift

Salary

Annual base salary range is $110,000 - 150,000 USD per year. Total on-target compensation includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
