Overview
Be the face of Makers Union as a Host and create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. As a Host, you will be responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Join our team and be part of a lively and inclusive pub environment where you play a key role in making our guests feel welcome.
Responsibilities
  • Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction
  • Provide accurate wait times and assist guests with any questions or requests
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host station, including managing menus and promotional materials
  • Collaborate with servers and other team members to coordinate seating and manage guest flow
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and efficiency

Qualifications
  • Experience in high volume, upscale causal dining or an equivalent service environment preferred.
  • Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours).
  • Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., menus, high chairs, booster seats).
  • Reach, bend, and stoop occasionally.
  • Use hands and arms to operate reservation systems and phones.
  • Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-pace setting.
