Job description

Summary/Objective
We are looking for a flexible, results-driven team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines. Must possess a good understanding of general construction and repair methods, and familiarity of materials and equipment used in varying construction conditions.
Essential Functions
  • Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds and occasionally more.
  • See well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers.
  • Use hands and arms fully to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
  • Climb and maintain body balance on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, crawl or work for long periods at heights required.
  • Access multiple levels of height and depth.
  • Access confined spaces.
  • Load, transport, unloads and furnishes experienced craft workers with materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Dig, spread and level dirt and gravel.
  • Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe.
  • Perform a variety of routine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints, measuring distances from grade stakes, driving stakes and stretching tight line.
  • Bolt, nail, align and block up under forms.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • Erect scaffolding, shoring and braces.
  • Mop, brush or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces.
  • Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco.
  • Apply caulking compounds.
  • Grind, sand or polish surfaces.
  • Place culvert sections in trench.
  • Assemble sections of dredge pipeline.
  • Remove wallpaper.

Qualifications
  • 1+ years of related experience;
  • Possesses working knowledge of woodworking and general finishing techniques;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards;
  • High degree of attention to detail;
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member; and
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position can require strenuous physical work. Physical demands include frequent lifting and carrying of objects over 20 pounds, often combined with stooping, bending, twisting, crawling, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, and working in confined spaces.
