The Community Living Assistant is a critical member of our ministry by creating a safe, stable, and healthy community while encouraging camaraderie and a sense of belonging among the clients.
We are looking to fill the following schedule:
2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am)
Part-Time, Working Saturday & Sunday
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Client Supervision & Safety
  • Monitor client activity to maintain safety and compliance with house rules by walking the facility regularly, monitoring cameras, and staying engaged in client activities.
  • Station in key areas such as the dining hall to observe interactions and provide visible support.
  • Conduct room checks, package/purse inspections, and general observation to identify and remove contraband in accordance with search, contraband, and weapons protocols.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, escalating safety or behavioral concerns to the Community Living Leader or Lead Community Living Assistant as needed.

Orientation & Client Support
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new clients, introducing community living guidelines, facility layout, and basic living expectations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day client needs, concerns, and emergencies, referring to Client Support Services when necessary.
  • Model healthy conflict resolution and guide clients through issues using de-escalation techniques.

Documentation & Communication
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, incidents, and unusual events in Salesforce and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports before the end of each shift.
  • Communicate client community living concerns, needs, and emergencies via Salesforce notes and email updates to appropriate staff.

Medication Administration
  • Administer medication in alignment with program policy and accurately document client consumption in the medication log.

Relationship Building
  • Build rapport with clients by maintaining a calm, compassionate, and professional presence.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-resolution skills to maintain a safe and supportive living environment.

  • Prior experience in residential or community living programs.

Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires standing for long periods of time and to move and walk to various locations, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, push, bend and twist.
  • Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 20lbs
  • Must have peripheral vision and depth perception

Special Job Requirements: This is an essential role for which the expectation is that employees in this role are available to work in the case of an emergency (i.e. public health or weather related emergencies, government intervention, etc). Work schedules and job functions are subject to change based on the business needs.
