Job Description*
We are hiring a Controller for a well-established, member-focused Credit Union. This is a full-time, onsite leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial operations, accounting processes, and reporting
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements
  • Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and financial controls
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (banking/credit union standards)
  • Monitor financial performance and provide strategic insights to leadership
  • Implement and maintain internal controls
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team
  • Coordinate with external auditors and stakeholders

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in:
    • Financial reporting
    • General ledger management
    • Account reconciliation
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (banking / financial institutions)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Proven experience in:
    • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Financial analysis to support strategic decisions
  • Solid knowledge of:
    • Regulatory compliance (banking / financial environment)
    • Internal controls & audit processes
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Accounting software / ERP systems
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel (reporting, analysis)
  • Demonstrated leadership:
    • Managing and mentoring accounting teams
