Job description

THE POSITION The County Caseworker 2 position with Union County Children and Youth Services offers a chance to make a real difference for families in need. Every day brings new challenges and the chance to help children stay safe and supported. This role gives you the chance to build strong, caring connections with people who depend on your guidance.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role focuses on supporting the safety and stability of children and families through careful assessment and ongoing guidance. As a County Caseworker 2, you will perform the following duties: Initial Assessments: Gather information, assess home stability, and evaluate caregiver capabilities Safety Actions: Identify risks, implement safety responses, and coordinate needed services Family Engagement: Maintain contact with families and community partners to support progress Case Documentation: Prepare detailed case notes, reports, and required forms Service Coordination: Refer families to appropriate agency and community supports Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Overtime and on-call rotation is a requirement of employment Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after 6 months. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Lewisburg, PA The ability to telework is subject to change at any time .Additional details may be provided during the interview

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
