Summary

The Department of Social Work at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position beginning August 20244. We seek a diverse pool of candidates who have experience working with historically under-represented and marginalized populations. These candidates will enhance our Department's commitment to inclusivity by fostering an environment which supports antiracism and social justice practices. Our program has a focus on generalist practice, advanced generalist, and social justice. We encourage applicants with a diversity of knowledge, backgrounds, and experiences that will contribute to our Department's inclusive culture.
Duties include teaching six courses per academic year with a focus on undergraduate and graduate social work practice that emphasizes diversity and equity with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching courses on weekdays, evenings, and/or some weekends across undergraduate and/or graduate courses with in-person, online, and in hybrid formats. Clinical faculty advise undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates should have experience or the ability to teach courses including social work practice, policy, field internship seminar, and courses including "Race, Culture and Oppression." Clinical responsibilities may include departmental leadership, responsibility for training students, serving as internship liaisons, conducting site visits, and supervising undergraduate students in senior year internships. Service responsibilities include department, college, community, university, and professional service.

Application Process:
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled; however, review of applications will commence by June 10, 2024. Initial screening interviews will be conducted via ZOOM and up to 3 finalists will be invited to campus for full day interviews.
Candidates selected for interviews will also need to provide documentation of effective teaching (e.g., teaching evaluations).
Salary:
Salary for this 9-month position is commensurate with qualifications and experience. UNH offers an excellent selection of benefits.

Requirements for Assistant Clinical Professor Position
MSW degree from a CSWE accredited institution
At least five years of post MSW experience preferably in Generalist Practice
Evidence of successful undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience
Experience teaching in in-person, hybrid, and/or online modalities
A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in both university campus and community settings with faculty, staff, students, and community groups of diverse backgrounds
Prior experience doing community liaison work preferred.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Social work practice experience in health care, public health, or disability practice settings.

The Department of Social Work operates CSWE accredited undergraduate and graduate social work programs. Our programs include 175 undergraduate majors and over 200 full- and part-time graduate students at the flagship Durham campus as well as through the online MSW program. Additionally, our program offers graduate-level dual degrees in partnerships with the Recreation Management and Policy (RMP) Department and the UNH School of Law. The Department of Social Work provides a family friendly program with a community and strength-based curriculum and a student-centered environment.
