Job description

Underground Foreman
The Underground Foreman plays a key leadership role in the successful execution of underground fire and water utility services projects. This individual is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, managing crew performance, coordinating with general contractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and maintaining quality workmanship throughout the duration of the project. The ideal candidate demonstrates ownership, leads by example, fosters a strong team culture, and communicates effectively with both field and office personnel.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary on-site contact for General Contractor (GC) Superintendent and maintain a professional working relationship.
  • Communicate daily with the Legends Superintendents regarding material needs, scheduling updates, and jobsite progress.
  • Receive and verify materials using stock lists; resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Ensure that all jobsite crew members follow company policies and procedures, especially related to safety (ladder use, fall protection, PPE).
  • Oversee and maintain all tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean and working condition.
  • Submit detailed daily reports including inspections, schedule changes, conversations with GCs, and incident documentation.
  • Take and upload quality worksite photos to our operating software for documentation and review.
  • Train and mentor fitters/ helpers to build internal capability and promote growth.
  • Review and submit accurate timesheets for the entire crew by the weekly deadline.
  • Call in necessary inspections unless otherwise specified by online systems.
  • Ensure completion and submission of project foreman packets and permits upon project closeout.
  • Maintain consistent working hours for the full crew; enforce attendance and approved overtime policies.

Education/Experience:

Physical Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Capable of standing and working for extended periods of time
  • Comfortable working around heavy equipment and construction tools
  • Must be able to drive company vehicles and perform basic vehicle maintenance
  • A current and valid US driverโ€™s license is required.
