  • We are seeking a hardworking and physically fit Skilled Laborer to join our underground construction crew. You will assist our foremen and equipment operators with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utilities (e.g., water, sewer, fiber optic, or electrical lines). The ideal candidate thrives outdoors in varying weather conditions, possesses strong stamina, and is committed to strict OSHA safety standards.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Excavation & Trenching: Perform heavy manual labor, including hand-digging, potholing, and excavating around existing underground utilities to prevent damage.
  • Pipelaying & Conduit: Assist in laying, joining, and connecting pipes (PVC, ductile iron, concrete) and installing underground conduits for fiber optics or electrical lines.
  • Site Preparation & Restoration: Clear job sites, load and unload materials, backfill trenches, and tamp soil to restore worksites.
  • Equipment Operations: Safely operate specialized hand and power tools such as jackhammers, compactors, and air compressors. Signal and assist heavy equipment operators.
  • Safety & Compliance: Identify potential hazards, erect traffic control/barricades, and strictly adhere to all OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in underground utility construction, general civil construction, or trenching.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, and move heavy objects (50–75 lbs.), bend, stoop, kneel, and work in trenches or confined spaces.
  • Work Conditions: Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, sometimes with required overtime
