Job description

Join Our Team as an Addiction Consultation Liaison

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations for patients in medical-surgical units and the emergency department to assess psychiatric diagnoses, risk factors, and treatment requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with medical and surgical teams to create integrated treatment plans that address both medical and psychiatric issues.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychiatric interventions, including medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Provide education to medical and nursing staff on psychiatric matters, including symptom recognition, appropriate interventions, and strategies for managing psychiatric emergencies.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary rounds and case conferences to discuss complex cases and ensure coordinated care.
  • Accurately document all clinical interactions in the Epic electronic medical record system.
  • Uphold confidentiality and comply with ethical and legal standards in psychiatric practice.
  • Stay informed about advancements in consultation liaison psychiatry through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Optional participation in evening and weekend shifts is available, offering additional compensation.
Qualifications
  • Must possess an MD or DO degree and be eligible for a Massachusetts medical license.
  • Board certification or eligibility is required.
